heroin

Lost in the harridan night

The girl with the cat-eyes is dying inside

Her body wasted by drug abuse

Her affections for sale

Her heart kind and pure

Still a nice person

But dying inside

Still a good friend

But dying inside

Still a sweet companion

But dying inside

I didn’t see you last week
Or the week before
And now my heart feels like a biscuit under a boot
So strange- tied up with string
Such a hopeless hope
That I might be your boyfriend
If only I was alpha enough
Or thin enough
Or not socially awkward
Maybe it’s better just to be a friend
Someone in your sunshine life over the event horizon
Where you dance and dance flamenco style
And there is never any chilli powder in the ointment
Just talking to you was marvellous
Dream woman, heavenly harridan, delicious person

empathy

Symbiotic empathy
Is precious as platinum
Person to person network pulsating
Holding hands with minds and mutual goodwill
Understanding pain like nails hammered into souls
Interdividual manifestations of companionship
Mirror-feeling alien emotions of others
Can unite us like no other magic
As we are social animals
When we feel the other’s pain
And can imagine their journey
Compassion flows like honey
