train-to-beach-perth

There is a certain elegance about a train

Decimating a body without pain

Because of the speed of execution

So let us speak of terrible miserable things

Dead forever, the big black nothing looms

A skeleton with sickle all dressed in black rags

Skeletal rictus jawboning and flabberjabbering the penalties for my horrific sins

There is a certain elegance about a train

Walk down the train-track at Queens Park so the C train

Comes through like a giant bullet

Splattering and battering me to constituent molecules

Rendering unto paste

Blood frenzy and deadly destruction poisons the atmosphere

My poor parents would not cope

But I’m trying not to do it

I’m a reluctant suicide case

Felonious kicks
For stupid pricks
Cavorting like corpses through purple twilight
Tedious fucks
Out of luck
When concrete cracks
Buildings collapse
Never go back to the town of your birth
Where skeletons parade through lonely streets
First people you meet
Have no eyes and no faces
Spectres haunt corners and grimace like gargoyles
Cars pass driven by porcelain princesses
Taking their kids to school
While their identikit husbands toil
Through uneven soil
And death’s maw beckons
At every second
To suck them into the pit
Full of shit
They consume and sit in front of television
Hypnotized
Hype glazes their eyes
And zombifies their skulls till everything just seems to blur
Into a grey and infinite turd
Stinking up their neurons and rendering them vegetable
Useless as a used condom

IMG_3764 Hierapolis, the necropolis

Mouldy loam envelopes bones
Alone and cold like a dead frog
Soaked in ghosts and maudlin memory
Rot and worms and festering bone dreams

Under drooping trees, topped with moist graceful grass
In a hoary necropolis with legions of dead
A skeleton waits for resurrection
Humble bones longing for new flesh

No stone marks the place of the bones
Too poor to afford a tombstone or plaque
Unremarkable life, unremarkable death
Mediocre till his last breath

The soil is weighing heavy and pervasive
Wood of the coffin rots into earth
The bones all alone while sun spears sky
Just like the other bones waiting to die

handsup
Who wants to die?
Hands Up!
Pigs bleed from an assortment of orifices in the slaughterhouse:
Treacle blood snakes down the drain.
Offensive
Pungent
Like emotional napalm from the mouth of a black angel
Like a skull-shrill yelp of a dog beaten to death with a tire-iron
Like maniac moaning from a storm drain
Like horrendous howls from a perforated soul
Like crazy chattering of skeletons’ teeth
Like skinning a live cat

Who wants to die?
Hands up!
Bludgeon bean bags
Bash pillows
Blast feathers
Beat meat
Such inconsequential actions
Are nihilistic metaphors
For nothing at all
Who wants to die next?
Hands Up!
Formica feelings
Frigid grimace
Cancerous asshole
Bleeds suburban angst
Far from important
Not even newsworthy

The Metal Skull

metalskull
Tenderness,
Hopelessness,
Dreams of death:
The metal skull is beaten until all the lumps are gone and it shines like a diamond tiara.
The metal skull is beaten until love vanishes and it gleams with apathy.
The metal skull is beaten, forging new nightmare images in its secret brain.
The metal skull is magnetized by random metal thoughts:
Fragments of envy buzz around like flies, attracted magnetically.
Envy is like osteoporosis- it ruins my love and breaks metal bones.
The metal skull is smashed by vile envy.

The broken skull reassembles itself:
Bone joins bone as the skeleton forms and is spray-painted with flesh and skin.
I cannot hate the skull or the body that reassembles around it in my dream when I am conscious-
But when asleep, jealousy boils, envy forms poisonous pustules, love turns green.
Awake there is love, but asleep we are enemies.
